Dill Rebel RANCH

I am trying hard not to sound like a sob when I talk about this ranch, so bear with me.  I love ranch, especially the ones restaurants make themselves, but for years we purchased a well-known ranch from a valley that was not so visible. Wink, wink.  After a few years of making more food from scratch I wanted to try my hand at ranch.  Afterall, we ate it all the time and it really did not seem that difficult.  And easy it was.  I started by mixing yogurt and mayonnaise with a dash of pickle juice and dill.  Pretty soon, making ranch was just a normal routine in our kitchen, we were hooked.  Okay here is the sobby part.  Now that I have made my own ranch for so long, I honestly can not go back to the bottle.  I will say no more than that, but if you start making your own ranch you will be in control. This ranch is made with four ingredients and you can be flexible with the mayo to yogurt ratio for healthier options.  The tastier option of course is more mayo than yogurt.

Makes about 1 ½ cups

2/3 Greek yogurt

2/3 mayonnaise

2 tablespoons pickle juice

1 teaspoon fresh or dried dill

Additional herbs optional

Mix all ingredients in a screw-cap jar.  Stir.  Reduce the amount of pickle juice for a thicker dip.
